About us · A Boston book club for women
Hi, we're Paper Trails & Tales.
Bring whatever you're into right now, whether it's your fifth romance of the month or a thriller everyone's talking about. We swap recs, hear about books we'd never pick up on our own, and meet somewhere new around the city once a month. Mood readers, you've found your people.
The whole idea
Why there's no assigned book
Everyone reads differently, and that's the fun part. Some of us read whatever we're in the mood for. Some of us stick to one genre and love it. Some of us haven't finished a book in months.
One assigned book would leave half the table out. So instead, everyone brings what they're actually reading, talks about what they loved (or didn't), and goes home with recs they'd never have found on their own.
Who comes to PTT
From the founder
Hi, I'm Maryam
I started Paper Trails & Tales in May 2024 because I kept finishing books with no one to talk to about them. Every book club I found had assigned reading, and as a mood reader, that just doesn’t work for me. I’m also a romance reader through and through, and I’ll defend romance novels to anyone who asks (and plenty who don’t).
So I made the book club I wanted to join. I love hearing about what people are reading, even if it’s something I’d never pick up myself. And every once in a while, someone talks about a book so well that I have no choice but to read it.
Every month I find a new spot around the city. The rest is up to whoever shows up, and that’s always the best part.
See you at the next one,
Maryam
Before your first meetup
Good questions
Does it cost anything?
No, meetups are free. If we ever add a paid activity, it's optional and happens at a separate time.
Do I need to read something before I come?
Nope. Bring whatever you're reading right now, or nothing at all.
How do I RSVP?
Whichever is easiest: RSVP on the Events page once the next meetup is posted, DM us on Instagram at @ptt.bookclub, or email papertrailsntales@gmail.com.
How often do you meet?
Once a month, somewhere new each time. You can see everywhere we've been on Trails & Tales.
Can I come on my own?
Of course. Everyone's there to talk books, so you won't be on your own for long.
